Urban cougar dating Q&A

Meet Sabrina, a successful 42 year old chiropractor living on the West Coast of the USA. She is a self-proclaimed ‘cougar.’

We spoke to Sabrina recently about her most significant cougar-type dating relationship to get a better insight into the mind of an urban cougar.

Cougared.com: Hi Sabrina. What is the largest age difference you’ve had when dating a younger man?

Sabrina: His name is Alexander. We went out for a year. He was 21 at the time we started to date and I was 34. So that makes him 13 years younger than me. He looked 35 and was amazing in bed, so smart and so intelligent. We are still great friends.

Cougared.com: So why did you guys break up?

Sabrina: Well it was a long distance dating thing for awhile. He was in Seattle and I was near LA. Eventually he moved down to live near me with a job that I found for him. He was feeling depressed about moving to CA for me and it just faded. Once I got him to my home town, the thrill sort of wore off for me.

Cougared.com: How did the age gap influence your relationship?

Sabrina: There were a lot of firsts for him, which was really fun for me. He ate sushi for the first time with me. He wrote beautiful poetry for me.

Cougared.com: How was this relationship different than with a guy your age?

Sabrina: This one was more pliable, didn’t have the baggage. He really had such freshness and coolness about him. He was very conscious of how he looked and took care of how himself. He was so thoughtful and would pick out lovely gifts for me.

Cougared.com: How did it affect him when you stopped dating?

Sabrina: I’m afraid I scarred him by bringing him here and then dropping him. I wish I had been more loving and kind with him. After a year things change and actually I wasn’t ready for it and he was.

Cougared.com: Did the age difference cause problems for your relationship?

Sabrina: It was my inability to have intimacy when I got him down. All my friends loved him. I got along great with his family. At first they were concerned he was dating someone so much older, but we really hit it off. I was able to him and his family deal with his sister coming out as a lesbian.

Cougared.com: How was it different sexually ?

Sabrina: The chemistry and satisfication was so amazing. In general with the younger guys, the sex is fantastic. He knew how to please me and was willing to do so.

Cougared.com: Would you get into another relationship with a much younger man?

Sabrina: Yes, absolutley.

Cougared.com: How young would you go?

Sabrina: Maybe 28, but I wouldn’t necessarily put a number on.

Cougared.com: What is the best dating advice you would give to a fellow cougar?

Sabrina: Your 'prey' comes in many forms. Just be open to love.
